Casual Vacancy on Strumpshaw Parish Council
A vacancy has arisen on Strumpshaw Parish Council following the resignation of Councillor Michael Green.
Under Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, residents are advised that a casual vacancy now exists for the role of Parish Councillor. If ten registered electors from the Strumpshaw parish area request an election, a by‑election will be held. Requests must be submitted no later than 24 April 2026 to:

If a valid request is received, the Returning Officer will set an election date within 60 days of the notice, excluding weekends and bank holidays, in line with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006.
If no election is requested, the Parish Council will instead fill the vacancy by co‑option as soon as practicable.
