Notice of vacancy in the office of Councillor for Strumpshaw Parish Council
I must give notice, under Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for the Strumpshaw parish area. The vacancy has arisen due to the resignation of Will Faulkner.
For a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy, a request by ten registered local government electors in Strumpshaw parish area must be made, not later than 28/01/2026 to: The Returning Officer, Broadland District Council, Horizon Business Centre, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, NR7 0WF.
On receipt of a valid request, the Returning Officer will set the date of an election to be held within 60 days of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays), in accordance with Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006.
If an election is not requested, the Parish Council will co-opt a person to fill the vacancy as soon as practicable.
