We have a vacancy on the Parish Council for a parish councillor. Becoming a parish councillor is a rewarding and valued form of public service. We normally meet every two months, meetings commence at 7:30pm lasting around 2 hours. Please contact the clerk at clerk@strumpshaw-pc.gov.uk

Becoming a parish councillor could be for you! To qualify as parish councillor you must be:
- A British citizen, or a citizen of the Commonwealth or some European Union countries
- 18 years of age or older
- Live or work in an area that is served by your local council
Role of local councillors:
Local (town and parish) councils and councillors make a big difference to local people’s quality of life. They need to be passionate, open-minded and team players, who are champions for their communities. Local councillors invest time in local projects and issues to benefit the residents and neighbourhood. They will help make decisions on local services, work closely with district councils to support local needs and progress vital projects for the future of the community.
